During a recent photo session, I was in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, at the Deerfield Nature Park. While walking through the park, I came across Fisher’s Covered Bridge. A couple shots from that session featured a model inside the bridge, looking out a window. Although the bridge originally dates to 1968, I decided to take some artistic liberty with the image. After an initial color correction in Adobe Lightroom, I exported the image to Adobe Photoshop for further editing with the Google Nik Collection. Using the Nik Collection, I applied an “antique plate” effect to the image. This effect applied a strong vignette to the image, as well as an aged yellowed tone. Using a layer mask and my Wacom tablet, I brought color back to the model and the scene outside the window. I thought it was somewhat fitting to reference time travel in the title of the image, as the illusion of two separate eras is present in the end result.
